Undefined behavior via incompatible XML curve downcast
Published Jan 6, 2026 · Updated Jan 6, 2026
Type confusion in iccDEV before 2.3.1.2 allows local users to trigger undefined behavior while serializing an ICC profile to XML. In IccMpeXml.cpp, ToXmlCurve uses a C-style cast to treat a CIccSingleSampledCurve object as the misspelled CIccSinglSampledeCurveXml class, then calls a member through the incompatible pointer. Exploitation requires user interaction with an attacker-influenced profile; the invalid member call was reproduced on Linux and macOS before XML output completed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
