CVE-2026-21492Public exploit

Application crash via missing ToneMap function checks

Published Jan 6, 2026 · Updated Jan 6, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in iccDEV before 2.3.1.2 allows local users to crash profile-processing applications via crafted ICC XML. ToneMap XML parsing accepts missing luminance curves or tone-map functions, and CIccMpeToneMap::Write calls Write on the resulting null members. Exploitation requires a user or consuming application to process attacker-supplied profile XML; the documented consequence is a crash only.
