Unauthenticated account takeover via predictable temporary QR code
Published Feb 14, 2026 · Updated Feb 14, 2026
Privilege escalation in Magic Login Mail or QR Code 2.05 and earlier allows remote attackers to access any WordPress user account. The email path writes the login QR image as the static QR_Code.png in the public uploads directory and deletes it only after wp_mail() returns. Exploitation requires winning that race after requesting a link for a registered user; capturing an administrator's QR code grants administrator access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
