Unauthorized category assignment via unchecked POST values
Published Feb 18, 2026 · Updated Feb 18, 2026
Incorrect authorization in User Submitted Posts 20260113 and earlier allows remote attackers to assign posts to restricted categories. The usp_get_submitted_category function accepts user-submitted-category array values without checking them against the categories allowed in usp_options. No account is required when the submission form is publicly reachable; successful requests alter stored category assignments without broader data access.
