CVE-2026-2123

Local privilege escalation via writable executable paths

Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026

Privilege escalation in OpenText Operations Agent 12.22 through 12.29 on Windows allows local users to execute code with elevated privileges. The libopc_r module's ntproc.c code launches executables from designated writable locations without rejecting paths writable by lower-privileged users. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and specific runtime conditions, and it grants control in the agent's privileged context.
