System file access via unvalidated traversal paths
Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Path traversal in GalaxyDiagnostics on Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Sep-2026 Release 1 allows physical attackers to access system files. GalaxyDiagnostics fails to validate a supplied file path before resolving it, so traversal elements escape the intended directory under the component's system privilege. Physical possession is required, no account or user interaction is needed, and no service interruption is reported.
