CVE-2026-21092Network attack vector

System-privileged file creation via path traversal

Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026

Path traversal in ImsService in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Sep-2026 Release 1 allows remote attackers to create image files. ImsService fails to validate a path used for remotely supplied image data, allowing the resolved destination to escape its intended directory. No authentication or user interaction is required, and created files carry system-server privilege; Samsung has not disclosed the exposed protocol or destination constraints.
