Out-of-bounds write in libcodec2secevrcdec.so in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Sep-2026 Release 1 allows local users to corrupt memory. Samsung identifies the codec library and added validation logic but has not disclosed the untrusted input or faulty operation that produces the write. Exploitation requires local access to an affected Android 14, 15, 16, or 17 device; the published consequence stops at an out-of-bounds write.
