Device inoperability via missing Weaver access checks

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Improper access control in Samsung Weaver before SMR Aug-2026 Release 1 allows local users to render mobile devices inoperable. Samsung states only that Weaver lacks proper access-control checks and does not disclose the guarded operation or caller path. A local, unprivileged caller can trigger the flaw without user interaction, and the reported consequence is device inoperability rather than data disclosure.
