CVE-2026-20973Network attack vector

Unauthenticated memory disclosure via image codec over-read

Published Jan 9, 2026 · Updated Jan 9, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Jan-2026 Release 1 allows remote attackers to read out-of-bounds memory. The libimagecodec.quram.so image codec library reads beyond a buffer after failing to validate untrusted input, but Samsung has not disclosed the affected parser or field. No authentication or user interaction is required; the published impact is limited to disclosure of adjacent memory on affected Android 13 through 16 devices.
