CVE-2026-20815

Local privilege escalation via camsvc race condition

Published Jan 13, 2026 · Updated Jan 13, 2026

A race condition in Capability Access Management Service in Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025 allows local users to elevate privileges. Microsoft identifies concurrent use of a shared camsvc resource without proper synchronization but does not disclose the resource, operation, or race window. A low-privileged local user must win a high-complexity race; successful exploitation permits the elevated context to read, alter, or disrupt protected system resources.
