CVE-2026-20793

Local denial of service via unchecked return value

Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026

Unchecked return handling in Intel QuickAssist Technology Driver for Windows before 1.13 allows local users to interrupt service. Intel identifies the locus only as Ring 3 user applications; they fail to check a return value, and Intel has not disclosed the affected function or error path. A low-privileged authenticated local user can trigger the flaw without user interaction, causing limited availability loss with no reported data exposure or modification.
