CVE-2026-20783

Local service interruption via undisclosed firmware check

Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026

Denial of service in Intel NPU Driver before Linux 1.32.0 and Windows 32.0.100.4723 allows local users to interrupt systems. The flaw is an improper exceptional-condition check in Ring 1 firmware, but Intel has not disclosed the checked condition or triggering input. An authenticated low-privilege user can trigger it without user interaction, although Intel does not state whether the interruption is a crash, hang, or reboot.
