Client crash via external SVG link embeds
Published Mar 25, 2026 · Updated Mar 25, 2026
Denial of service in affected Mattermost 10.11, 11.2, 11.3, and 11.4 releases allows attackers to crash web and desktop clients via SVG link embeds. The link-preview renderer accepts external SVGs referenced by GitHub issue or pull-request embeds and renders them without blocking that exceptional content type. The gate is control of a GitHub issue or pull request selected for a link embed; the reported consequence is a client crash, not server termination.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.11.0 <=10.11.11
- Affected versionversion=11.2.0 <=11.2.3
