Remote content loading via unenforced preview preference
Published Feb 11, 2026 · Updated Feb 11, 2026
Logic error in Apple Mail on affected iOS, iPadOS, and macOS releases allows remote attackers to load remote content in message previews. Mail fails to enforce the disabled “Load remote content in messages” preference for every preview, causing some previews to fetch sender-controlled resources. Receiving a crafted message is the apparent gate; Apple has not disclosed the affected preview path or any consequence beyond the unwanted remote request.
