Code execution via uninitialized PNMInfo structure
Published Feb 20, 2026 · Updated Feb 20, 2026
Use of uninitialized memory in GIMP 3.0.6 allows remote attackers to execute code when a user opens a crafted PGM file. The file-pnm loader allocates its PNMInfo structure without zeroing it, then accesses fields that retain uninitialized memory during PGM parsing. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and successful code runs in the current GIMP process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
