An out-of-bounds write in MediaTek imgsys on MT6899, MT6991, MT8678, and MT8793 allows local users with System privilege to escalate access. The imgsys component fails to bounds-check a supplied index, position, or offset before using it for a memory write. The documented gate is existing System privilege; no user interaction is required, and successful exploitation elevates local access.
