Secure Boot bypass in Cisco UCS servers and UCS-based appliances allows local users to execute unauthorized software through the UEFI Shell. The shell leaves memory-write commands available while Secure Boot is enabled, allowing UEFI memory variables used by validation to be overwritten. Exploitation requires a user or administrator account and console access, or unauthenticated physical access; successful attacks can alter the preboot trust boundary without interrupting service.
