Incorrect authorization in Splunk AI Toolkit before 5.7.3 allows remote authenticated users to read data restricted by custom roles. The app's authorize.conf adds srchFilter to the built-in user role, and Splunk joins inherited filters with OR, overriding stricter child-role filters. Accounts must inherit the built-in user role and lack admin or power; affected searches can disclose confidential results but cannot modify data.
