Authenticated script execution via stored XSS
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Stored XSS in Cisco Industrial Ethernet 1000 Series Switches allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser. The web-based management interface insufficiently validates user-supplied input on specific interface pages and later renders the stored content to other users, enabling injected JavaScript to run in their interface context. Valid credentials are required, and exploitation also requires another user to load an affected management page; Cisco describes cross-user script execution but no device crash, reboot, or direct firmware modification.
