SAML secret disclosure via plaintext configuration logging
Published Feb 18, 2026 · Updated Feb 18, 2026
Cleartext logging in affected Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud Platform versions allows remote authenticated users to read SAML secrets. The splunkd component writes SAML AQR passwords or authentication-extension secure arguments in plaintext to conf.log, which is searchable through the _internal index. Exposure requires an SHC deployment, the relevant SAML feature, and a role permitted to search _internal; the leak is limited to logged SAML values.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
