Remote command execution via bypassable Python eval
Published Feb 6, 2026 · Updated Feb 6, 2026
Code injection in abhiphile fermat-mcp 47f11def1cd37e45dd060f30cdce346cbdbd6f0a allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The eqn_chart function in fmcp/mpl_mcp/core/eqn_chart.py passes attacker-controlled equations values to Python eval with restricted globals that import can bypass to call os.system. Access to the MCP tool is required; commands run with the server process's privileges, while sandboxing confines their reach.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
