CVE-2026-19980Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Authenticated root command execution via cron injection

Published Aug 17, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026

Code injection in Language Update in GL.iNet router firmware 4.8.x and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The ui.update_langs RPC method accepts hour, min, and week values without enforcing numeric input and writes them into gl_timer, allowing injected cron content to be executed. Exploitation requires network reachability to the management RPC interface and low privileges; successful use grants root-level control over router settings, files, and scheduled tasks.
