Authenticated command execution via macaddress injection

Command injection in COMFAST CF-N1-S 2.6.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands via the macaddress parameter. In /cgi-bin/mbox-config?method=SET§ion=ptest_macaddress, function sub_44A968 places the JSON macaddress value into a shell command with sprintf() and executes it with popen() without sanitization or validation. Reachability requires a valid web-management session, but the published proof of concept shows firmware-level command execution and states that root-level actions can follow.
