Authenticated command execution via interface parameter
Published Aug 16, 2026 · Updated Aug 16, 2026
Command injection in /goform/stainfo on Edimax EW-7478APC 1.04 allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands. The stainfo handler passes the POST-supplied interface value to system() without neutralizing shell metacharacters, causing the appliance shell to interpret attacker-controlled input. Valid web-interface credentials and network access to the management endpoint are required; the resulting commands execute in the appliance OS context.
