Authenticated memory corruption via selSSID overflow
Published Aug 16, 2026 · Updated Aug 16, 2026
Buffer overflow in /goform/formWlSiteSurvey in Edimax EW-7478APC 1.04 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via selSSID. In formWlSiteSurvey, user-controlled selSSID data reaches a strncpy(v4, a1, v2) copy with attacker-influenced length, overrunning the destination buffer. Reachability requires access to the web management interface; the published proof of concept sends an authenticated POST request, and public records do not disclose effects beyond the resulting memory corruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
