Authenticated command execution via formWlbasic rootAPmac
Published Aug 16, 2026 · Updated Aug 16, 2026
Command injection in Edimax EW-7478APC 1.04 allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands via rootAPmac. The /goform/formWlbasic handler uses the POST-supplied rootAPmac value in the formWlbasic code path, and the accepted public submission states that attacker-controlled input reaches a system() call. Exploitation requires access to the device management interface with low privileges, and successful use can run arbitrary commands on the access point.
