CVE-2026-19955Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service crash via unchecked TOC offsets

Published Aug 16, 2026 · Updated Aug 16, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in TrailDB 0.6 allows attackers to crash consuming processes by opening and traversing a crafted TrailDB file. tdb_open maps trails.toc and trails.data without checking entry count, bounds, or monotonicity; tdb_get_trail then turns a TOC value into a data pointer that read_bits dereferences. The demonstrated outcome requires an application, service, or batch job to accept and traverse attacker-supplied content and is limited to process termination or repeated job failure.
