Unauthenticated shortcode execution via stored comments
Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Shortcode injection in Spam protection, Honeypot, Anti-Spam by CleanTalk before 6.87 allows remote attackers to execute site shortcodes. The plugin's comment_text filter sends stored, attacker-controlled comment text to WordPress's shortcode engine without neutralizing shortcode syntax. Any visitor who can submit a comment can invoke shortcodes registered by the site, and the rendered output is shown to subsequent page visitors.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
