Unauthenticated user metadata disclosure via stored shortcodes
Published Aug 21, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026
Shortcode injection in Proper Fraction ProfilePress before 4.17.1 allows remote attackers to disclose selected WordPress user metadata. Two public profile fields retain attacker-supplied shortcode syntax, and the frontend renderer passes those stored values to WordPress shortcode processing. No authentication or user interaction is required; executed shortcodes expose a chosen user's email address, login name, and registration date.
