Authenticated file overwrite via snapshot path traversal
Published Aug 14, 2026 · Updated Aug 14, 2026
Path traversal in wvp-GB28181-pro 2.7.4-20260107 allows remote authenticated users to write snapshot image data outside its directory. PlayController.getSnap concatenates deviceId and channelId into a filename that reaches FileOutputStream without normalization or a containment check. A valid JWT is required, and the attacker controls the destination path but can write only image bytes returned by the media server.
