Administrator code execution via unchecked restore paths
Published Aug 30, 2026 · Updated Aug 30, 2026
Path traversal in WPvivid — Backup, Migration & Staging before 0.9.133 allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary server files. During backup restoration, the archive extractor accepts entry paths without validating that their resolved destinations remain inside the intended restore directory. Administrator-level access and a crafted backup package are required; placing executable content can result in code execution on the WordPress host.
