Stored XSS via unsanitized SVG upload
Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Stored XSS in Roxnor GutenKit before 2.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in other users' browsers via crafted SVG uploads. The plugin enables multiple SVG upload paths but does not pass every path through SVG sanitization; the 2.5.0 changelog identifies the REST media and sideload upload paths as sanitization bypasses. Exploitation requires an account with file upload capability, such as Author, and the payload runs when a victim opens the uploaded SVG, including an administrator viewing the file on the WordPress site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
