Elevated code execution via writable configuration file
Published Aug 14, 2026 · Updated Aug 14, 2026
OS command injection in Tenable Security Center before 6.9.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges. A writable but otherwise undisclosed configuration file passes attacker-controlled content into an operating-system command without adequate neutralization. Local low-privileged access and write permission to that file are required; no further user interaction is needed, and the file's identity is undisclosed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
