Cross-board attachment actions via missing authorization
Published Feb 5, 2026 · Updated Feb 5, 2026
Improper access control in WeKan 8.0 through 8.20 allows remote authenticated users to move or validate inaccessible attachments. The moveAttachmentToStorage and validateAttachment Meteor methods accept an attachment ID without confirming login or board visibility, while storage-moving paths also accept an unrestricted destination. Any authenticated user able to invoke these methods can act on attachments from boards that user cannot view, affecting attachment integrity and storage handling.
