CVE-2026-19611Network attack vector

Unauthorized access via NFKC password folding

Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

Improper alternate-encoding handling in WildFly Elytron allows remote attackers to reduce password keyspace and gain unauthorized access. AbstractPasswordImpl.getNormalizedPasswordBytes applies Unicode NFKC before hashing and verification, folding fullwidth characters into ASCII equivalents. Exploitation requires an account password containing NFKC-compatibility characters and feasible remote password guessing; successful guesses allow access as that account.
