Credential exposure or code execution via unvalidated schemes
Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026
Improper OIDC endpoint validation in affected MongoDB SQL clients allows remote attackers to expose credentials or execute code. In ODBC Driver 1.0.0 through 2.0.8 and Schema Builder CLI 1.0.1 through 1.2.0, discovery endpoints accept non-HTTPS schemes and reach the OS handler. Exploitation requires a user-initiated MONGODB-OIDC connection to an attacker-controlled deployment; the resulting handler runs with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
