System crash or BIOS corruption via oversized SMI

An out-of-bounds write in the SmiFlash SMM module of ASUS FA507NU and FA507NV BIOS 318 allows local users to crash the system or corrupt its BIOS. The module trusts an oversized length in a crafted software SMI request and writes beyond the intended buffer. Administrator privileges are required; successful exploitation can produce a BSOD or leave firmware corrupted, with no reported confidentiality impact.
