Code execution via oversized function transform lists
Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in PostgreSQL pg_dump before 18.6, 17.11, 16.15, 15.19, and 14.24 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. pg_dump stores pg_proc.protrftypes entries in storage sized for FUNC_MAX_ARGS, although transform lists can contain both input and output entries and exceed that limit. Database object-creation privileges are required; a crafted transform list corrupts the pg_dump process and grants the privileges of its operating-system account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
