Local service interruption via AdapterState reference miscount
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Improper reference counting in WireGuard LLC WireGuardNT 0.10.1 allows local users to interrupt service through AdapterState IOCTLs. The IOCTL handler's AdapterState function incorrectly updates a kernel object reference count while processing adapter state requests. Administrative local access is required, and exploitation is limited to availability impact through a driver or dependent-service interruption.
