Authorization interruption via unchecked UTF-8 slicing
Published Aug 9, 2026 · Updated Aug 9, 2026
Denial of service in Luciano Mammino oidc-authorizer 0.4.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt authorization via a crafted header. The parse_token_from_header function slices authorization_token at byte offset 7 without verifying a UTF-8 character boundary, so a spanning multibyte sequence triggers a Rust panic. Unauthenticated requests reaching the Lambda authorizer can fail that invocation and interrupt authorization processing, with no reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
