Pre-auth code execution via iked type confusion
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Type confusion in WatchGuard Fireware OS allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through crafted traffic to the iked process. The process accesses a resource through an incompatible type while handling the traffic; WatchGuard has not disclosed the affected parser or data structure. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code on the Firebox security appliance.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=12.0 <12.12.2
- Affected versionversion=12.0 <12.5.20
