Subscriber-level settings deletion via unchecked AJAX handler
Published Apr 22, 2026 · Updated Apr 22, 2026
Missing authorization in Emailchef for WordPress 3.5.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete plugin settings. The page_options_ajax_disconnect() AJAX handler accepts the emailchef_disconnect action and clears stored configuration without checking a WordPress capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the confirmed consequence is deletion of the plugin's stored settings.
