Local command execution via outputDir interpolation
Published Aug 8, 2026 · Updated Aug 8, 2026
Command injection in Slidev Builder MCP 2.1.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary shell commands through a crafted outputDir. The generateChart function joins outputDir into a Python script path, interpolates that path into a shell command, and passes it to execAsync. A caller must already be able to invoke the local generateAssets tool with assetType set to chart; injected commands run with the MCP server process privileges.
