Subscriber-level post-title modification via unchecked AJAX handler
Published Feb 18, 2026 · Updated Feb 18, 2026
Missing authorization in Roxnor EmailKit 1.6.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify any WordPress post title. The update_template_data AJAX handler accepts an attacker-controlled post ID and title, then updates the selected post without checking a content-management capability. Subscriber-level access and a valid handler nonce are sufficient; the write can rename posts, pages, and custom post types but cannot alter their bodies.
