Stored script execution via unsanitized comments
Published Aug 7, 2026 · Updated Aug 7, 2026
Stored XSS in SourceCodester Photo Share Website 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through posted comments. The save_upload action in /social/ajax.php stores the content parameter without sanitization or output encoding, so the payload executes when a comment is rendered. Posting requires an authenticated account, and another user must view the saved comment; script execution remains within that viewer's browser context.
