JVM heap exhaustion via unvalidated WebSocket length
Published Sep 7, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Denial of service in affected Eclipse Jetty releases allows remote attackers to exhaust JVM heap via a crafted WebSocket frame. With auto-fragmentation enabled, an unknown opcode bypasses maximum-frame-size handling, so payload memory is allocated from the declared length before opcode validation. A reachable WebSocket endpoint and auto-fragmentation are required; successful exploitation can crash the JVM and interrupt hosted services.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.0.0 <=10.0.31
- Affected versionversion=11.0.0 <=11.0.31
