Missing authorization in Rapid7 Velociraptor before 0.77.2 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite live built-in artifacts. The verify() VQL function loads submitted artifacts into the global repository instead of an isolated temporary repository, bypassing write controls. An investigator with NOTEBOOK_EDIT access must issue the query through a GUI notebook; later artifact execution can run attacker-supplied VQL.
