Code execution via unclamped catalog name lengths
Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in MongoDB BI Connector ODBC Driver before 1.4.9 allows remote attackers to execute code via oversized metadata names. Catalog metadata functions fail to clamp caller-supplied catalog, schema, or object-name lengths before writing into a fixed-size buffer. Reachability requires an application to pass an unusually long name into a metadata retrieval call; the resulting corruption can crash that application's process or enable code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
