Parser crash via wrapped nested-attribute allocation
Published Aug 7, 2026 · Updated Aug 7, 2026
Heap overflow in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 through 10 and Red Hat Hardened Images allows local users to crash p11-kit RPC parsing. The RPC attribute-array decoder multiplies an attacker-controlled nested template count into a byte length that wraps on 32-bit builds, under-allocating storage before second-pass decoding writes past the heap buffer. Exploitation requires local access or equivalent access to a reachable RPC channel, and the reported consequence is a parser-process crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
